The Cottage Preschool

The Cottage Preschool provides preschool services to children living in the Granville area. Children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are the focus of our centre, and we work with the children to build their English language, social and emotional skills so they are ready to start school.

We are a sessional preschool, with one session in the morning and another in the afternoon. 18 children attend each session.

Goals of The Cottage Preschool:

• Promote the continued development of children's first language in all areas of learning.
• Introduce and develop English language so each child will be able to fully participate in the school system.
• Develop each individual child's social, emotional, physical, cognitive and cultural needs and interests.
• Provide parents with information and experiences to enable them to understand the school system and take an active role in their children's learning.
• Integrate children with special needs and/or circumstances into the program.
• Provide parent support networks and activities to both preschool and community families. 
•  This project is funded by parent fees and subsidised by the Department of Community Services.
