Adolescent Support Program

The Adolescent Support Worker (ASW) provides counselling and family therapy to young people aged 12-18 years and/or their parents who are living in Granville and surrounding areas.

Sometimes young people and their families need some help from outside the family to cope with the difficulties that are part of life. We provide a confidential and professional service to support young people and their families.

We can work individually with young people, their families or with groups of young people or their families.

There are currently FIVE (5) places available to receive counselling or case management.  Ring Shareen for more information on 9637-7600

SISTAHOOD

Sistahood is an ALL GIRLS drop-in programme that runs through Granville Youth Centre on Tuesday afternoons between 3pm and 5pm.  We talk about stuff that girls are interested in, and let you know what is happening in our local area.

We do things like:

  • art activities,
  • make-up,
  • hair and beauty workshops,
  • healthy eating and lifestyle tips,
  • music,
  • singing

There are youth workers around to talk about stuff like:

  • what’s going on in your life,
  • anything that’s bugging you,
  • school,
  • home
  • or just to hang out with

There is food, drinks, pool tables, table tennis, computers and fun so come along and check it out!

If you would like any information regarding Sistahood, please contact the Adolescent Support Worker (Shareen Birges) on 9637 7600 or Moana Keepa at Granville Youth Centre 9897 9578.

This project is funded by the Department of Community Services.
